Este es, sin duda, uno de mis singles favoritos de toda la carrera de TEXAS, sino el que más. Las cuatro canciones son buenísimas, están en directo, y tres de ellas son versiones que no aparecen en ningún otro lado. Junto a "Alone with you" (del cd "Mothers Heaven") se incluyen "Can ´t get next to you" (The Temptations), "What goes on" (Lou Reed) y "Sweet Child O ´ mine" (Guns n ´ Roses). Y encima está firmado por los 5 miembros que formaban el grupo en aquella época.

This is, no doubt, one of my favorite singles in the entire career of TEXAS, if not my very favorite. All four songs are very good, played live, and three of them are versions that can ´t be found anywhere else. Este es el EP en directo "So in love with you". Contiene 4 temas grabados en su Glasgow natal. Digno de mención es la explosiva y guitarrera versión de "Why believe in you". Posiblemente el momento más duro en todo su catálogo, en una época en la que el simple hecho de pensar que un Dj pudiera entrar a formar parte del grupo era totalmente descabellado. Pues mira, al final el cacho cabrón acabó entrando...

This is the "So in love with you" live EP. It contains 4 songs recorded in their hometown Glasgow. Worth mentioning is the explosive and much guitar-oriented version of "Why believe in you". Perhaps the hardest moment in their entire catalogue, when thinking about a annoying Dj in Texas was totally out of the question. And however, in time, there was one...

¡Este si que es el más raro de la colección! Se trata del "Tired of being alone acoustic EP". Gracias a un viaje casual por Londres hace años pude conseguir esta joyita, que no he vuelto a ver más en ningún lado. Las 5.000 copias están numeradas, la portada es de cartón e incluye 3 postales en blanco y negro...y personalmente firmado por todo el grupo! ¡Para mear y no echar gota, señora! Now this IS the rarest in the Texas collection! It´s the "Tired of being alone acoustic EP" Thanks to the fact that I happened to be in London one fine day, I could grab a copy of this jewel, that I have never seen again ever since anywhere. The 5.000 copies are numbered, the package is made of cardboard, and includes 3 black & white postcards...and personally signed by the entire band! Doesn ´t get any rarer that this! Otra joya. Esta es la versión japonesa del "White on Blonde" que, aparte de tener 5 temas extra y una portada distinta (y bastante mejor), contiene dos libretos. Y para rematar la faena, SHARLEEN lo firmó con un mensaje muy personal: "All the happiness in the world for you & your new wife. Love always, Sharleen". Lástima que el rotulador fuera negro y no se lea fácilmente...(Haz click en la foto para verla aumentada)

Another jewel. This is the Japanese version of the "White on Blonde" cd that not only has 5 extra tracks and features a different (and quite better) cover, but also contains two booklets. To make things even better, SHARLEEN signed it with a personal message. "All the happiness in the world for you & your new wife. Love always, Sharleen". ¡Y pensar que estuve a punto de dejar pasar esta rareza! (estaba en una feria de coleccionistas de discos y ya había gastado bastante dinerito cuando lo ví). Afortunadamente lo compré...porque a pesar de que costó caro, no he vuelto a verlo nunca más en ningún lado. Se trata del "The Hush Interview disc", un disco promocional que no contiene música, sino las respuestas de SHARLEEN a 38 preguntas que vienen escritas en el libreto. Uno de los discos promocionales más cuidados que he visto nunca...Y encima firmado por SHARLEEN, John y Ally en persona. Se trata del "The Hush", pero incluido en una caja de cartón. Su tamaño es casi el doble del de una caja de cd normal, y dentro las fotos que venían en la versión normal del cd están también aumentadas...y convertidas en postales de papel satinado de alta calidad. Un tesoro. A Ally se le cayó la birra encima a la hora de firmarlo, pero se pudo limpiar y la cosa no fue a mayores.

One of the coolest promo cd´s I have ever seen...and personally signed by SHARLEEN, John and Ally. It´s "The Hush", but inside of a box. It´s size is almost twice that of a regular cd, and the pictures that came with the ordinary version of the cd are here also oversized... and made postcards of high-quality glossy paper. A treasure. Ally spilled some beer on it while he was signing it, but after a quick reaction, it looked perfect again.

¿Qué tenemos aquí? ¿ein? Pues la versión china del Cd "Carefull what you wish for" y del "Red book". Sobre el "Careful..." no hay mucho que decir. Aparte de una caja que protege al disco, y que reproduce la portada, no tiene más misterio. A nivel musical no presenta ningún "bonus". Pero bueno, los garabatos chinos molan. En cuanto al "Red book", explicar que en China vi dos versiones: Una que contiene el cd normal, y otras que trae 5 bonus tracks, más un cd adicional que trae el "Careful..." enterito. Obviamente, compré ese. Pero aparte trae una SORPRESA. La canción que cierra el disco, "Red Book" es una versión totalmente diferente a la normal, y además estupenda (más calmada y sin batería), aunque en ningún lugar se avise de dicho cambio.

Now this is the Chinese versions of the "Careful what you wish for" and "Red book" cd´s. When it comes to comment on "Carefful...", there´s not much to say: A box feauturing the album cover protects the cd case, which is an extra...but that´s about it. Sorry, no bonus tracks here, folks. Well, those Chinese symbols look pretty cool... However, there´s more to say about "Red book". I saw two different versions: one featured just the ordinarycd, while there was another which contained 5 bonus tracks, plus an extra cd with the entire "Carefull..." cd. And apart from that, there was a very nice SURPRISE: Even though it doesn´t say anything about it anywhere, the last song, "Red book" is totally different from the one featured on any ordinary cd. This version is more calm-down, and doesn´t have any drums.

...Y siguiendo con ediciones orientales, este es el "Red book" japonés. Aparte de un librito con las letras exclusivo, vienen incorporados los videos de "Getaway" y "Can´t resist". Llegó a mis manos gentileza de la coleguilla Noelia, que lo trajo de Tokio. Y es que tener un amigo de viaje por Japón y no encargarle discos es digno de sonora colleja.
Tengo que decir que también poseo la edición que incluía dvd, pero no voy a poner la foto, porque la única diferencia en la portada es una pequeña pegatina.

...Yet another rare edition from Asia. This is the Japanese "Red book". It includes an exclusive booklet with the lyrics, plus the videos for "Can´t resist" and "Getaway". Brought to me straight from Tokyo by my lovely friend Noelia.
I also have to say that I own (yet) a different edition: The one with the dvd. But the only difference in it´s outside look is a small sticker, so I won´t scan it.

Gracias a Dios que existe Ebay, donde una insensata puede vender el mismo disco, pero encima firmado por SHARLEEN, para ganarse tres duros.... Se trata del Dvd-single de "Can´t resist"

Not long ago, when I was in London I had to choose between buying this one or missing my flight back home. So I had to let it go. Thank God Ebay exists, where you can find a fool selling this copy of the "Can´t resist" dvd-single, signed by SHARLEEN, just to make a couple of bucks off it...

Esta es la versión especial del segundo cd en solitario de Sharleen:"The movie songbook". Viene en una cajita de hojalata, incluye un single en vinilo (en formato picture disc), y también un segundo cd con demos y temas extra. El libreto viene firmado por SHARLEEN.

La primerísima vez que traté con SHARLEEN fue en un aeropuerto. Estoy casi seguro que fue el 20 de mayo del `94, un día después del concierto al aire libre que se suspendió por la lluvia. Y para ser honesto no fue muy bien la cosa. SHARLEEN tenía un aspecto de muy cansada (era muy temprano) y posiblemente de enferma (más que yo). Pude hablar con ella un rato muy breve y estaba claro que no estaba por la labor. Tras esa primera decepción he estado con ella 5 veces más a lo largo del tiempo y siempre ha sido muy cordial y simpática. En todas las ocasiones le he regalado algo, que uno es muy generoso, casi siempre diseños propios por ordenador (puedes ver un par de ellos en la sección "todo para el enfermo"), y ya en el `99 me sorprendió cuando después de años sin vernos se acordaba de mi nombre. Prueba de que, o tiene muy buena memoria, o yo le he dado la plasta más de lo aconsejable.
