Bio2

What a great idea this woman had when she decided to quit her Sex Education career to become a Rock & Roller! (despite her opera training...). PAT BENATAR became the pioneer and true Queen of Rock, winning three consecutive Grammy awards (under the category of "Best female Rock vocalist") and being nominated another five times. Try to beat that. Her popularity decreased during the 80´s and even more in the 90´s... when she was recording her best stuff ever! Happily married with band guitarrist NEIL GIRALDO for decades now, they tour time and time again around the USA. Those expecting to see her in Europe sometime better get a comfortable chair to wait on.

Memorab2

This item is a quite bizarre one. It´s the famous "people" issue with PAT BENATAR on the cover. As you can tell by the Rubik cube sharing the cover, the mag is far from being current. This one came out during September `81. There is another detail to add up to the strangeness of the item. If you look closely you can see a white sticker with the name and address of the subscriber. Well, that´s no other than the LEX CHARM HAIR FASHION, located in Mansfield, Ohio. It makes me think that this mag has travelled a lot.

People81

One

On July the 2nd 1.999 I happened to be in Michigan, and by accident I knew that PAT was playing that very evening in Toledo, Ohio, which is the state right next to Michigan. The show was at the Promenade Park, and it was a free show. Still, it was announced that the use of video cameras was not allowed (??) even though it was, as I just said, a public park. So I did not dare to take out my video camera to record the show. After the show I got to meet, Mick Mahan and Ray Brinker, bass player and drummer (at the time) of PAT´s band. I did not have anything cool to be signed, so I asked them to autograph a one-Dollar bill.

UnionCity

Not very people know about this, but PAT got to work on an underground film in 1.981. The one and only time she entered the movie world as far as I know. The film, called "Union city" had Rock Goddess and (hopefully) future Rock and Roll gallinita DEBORAH HARRY as the main star. As everybody knows, DEBORAH ´s band is Blondie (if you don ´t know that, I wonder why you ´re visiting my page in the first place), and Blondie had a (great) song called "Union city blue" before the movie was shot, which makes me wonder if DEBBIE herself named the film or what. Whatever... Anyway, the plot is quite sick and dark, but the movie is actually pretty interesting and it was later re-released on dvd. And what about PAT´s role? Well, adding up all the scenes she participates in, she is on the screen for a total of two minutes, or something around that, and I kinda remember she does not get to open her mouth at all...

I really love these vintage advertisements. I ´ll tell you the story behind them. The high School I studied at in Michigan had a library that, besides books, also had quite a good collection of magazines such as "Mad" or "Rolling Stone". I used to go during my off time to read all those old issues, because the American version of "Rolling Stone" back then was not so terrible as it is today. Besides its pages were quite large in size. I was aware that nobody was going to appreciate the hidden treasures that in forms of article, review, interview, or advertising could be found on those pages. I mean, those magazines could be very well inside a trash can right now. So I decided to give them the love they deserved with a new owner (that is me...). And I ripped some pages off those magazines, but for a good cause, proven by the fact that today, almost 20 years later, they are still with me in great condition. Check these beauties! Great vintage stuff! There you have it: advertisings for the "Precious time" and "Live from Earth" albums, as well as two radio broadcasted shows.

Backstage

I bought these two backstage passes at a record collector fair years ago. Now somebody in their right mind might wonder how some people are willing to pay for a piece of plastified paper. Check the question again. It says some people "...in their right mind".

BenatarSigned

This signed picture I had to get it from her website. You pay and you get the name you want on the picture. Sad, but at that time meeting PAT was pure science-fiction, so that was the only way to get her autograph...

Poster

This signed silkscreen poster is for an Orlando show. The funny thing is that when I showed it to PAT & NEIL they were totally unaware of it. They liked it a lot so I promised them I´d get another copy for them.
It comes numbered, in a series of only 190, and signed by the artist, some Stain Boy guy.
